• Uploaded content: genomic data (VCF, FASTQ, BAM, etc.), protein sequences, multi-omics datasets, analysis parameters
• Communications: support tickets, feedback, survey responses

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, time spent, referring URLs
• Analysis metadata: timestamps, agent interactions, report generation events (no raw genomic content)
• Cookies & similar technologies: session tokens, preferences, analytics (see Section 9)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Services (including processing and analyzing uploaded genomic data as requested)
• To authenticate users and maintain account security
• To generate and deliver analysis reports and visualizations
• To communicate with you about your account, analyses, updates, and support
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical issues
• To comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, and enforce our Terms of Service
• For internal research, product development, and service improvement (aggregated/anonymized data only)

We never use your genomic or personal data for marketing, advertising, or secondary commercial purposes without your explicit, separate consent.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:

• With service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, payment processors) under strict confidentiality agreements
• To comply with legal requirements, court orders, or governmental requests
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Algogenics, our users, or the public
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required)
• With your explicit consent or at your direction

4. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3+)
• Access controls, audit logging, and regular security assessments
• SOC 2 Type II compliance program and HIPAA-aligned safeguards for protected health information

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary:

• Account data: while your account is active + 90 days after deletion request
• Analysis data: 90 days (free tier) or indefinitely (paid tiers) unless you request deletion
• Logs & metadata: up to 365 days for security and debugging

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via your profile settings or by emailing privacy@algogenics.ai. Deletion may take up to 30 days and is subject to legal retention obligations.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data
• Opt out of certain processing
• Withdraw consent (where processing is consent-based)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

7. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries. We use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect cross-border transfers as required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data promptly.
